When you start the game, you can unlock a total of 10 standard cars (also known as Battle-Cars). Four of them are directly available. Six of them require some actions from the player to unlock. The PS4 and Xbox One have some cars that are exclusive for that particular console. The maker of the game, Psyonix, introduces new cars frequently.
Common cars and bodies
By completing matches and meeting certain requirements you can unlock new cars. In all the versions and consoles the cars named: Gizmo, Road Hog, X-Devil and Octane are available at the start. You can unlock the following common cars items in the Rocket League:
- Armadillo (Xbox One exclusive)
- Hogsticker (Xbox One exclusive)
- Sweet Tooth (PS4 exclusive)
All the unlockable cars have different requirements to unlock. For example The Hogsticker is unlocked by playing one match with any car.
There are special bodies that you can get through Rocket League Crates. These bodies can be traded between players. You can also buy Rocket League bodies through an external vendor. Most of them come very cheap. So if you are a serious player, you can safely get new bodies in Rocket League for cheap. The imported bodies are:
- Animus GP
- Breakout Type-S
- Centio V17
- Dominus GT
- Octane ZSR
- Road Hog XL
- Takumi RX-T
- X-Devil Mk2
